Brava valentine5/13/2023 If I had to find a flaw in this book it would be that it doesn't feel like a complete story as a stand-alone novel. Even though I knew how everything would ultimately end up, it still kept my attention. I read this book in one day-which almost never happens for me. Trigiani has become one of my favorite writers. Her family is a kick-think My Big, Fat Greek Wedding, but in Italian-American form. She doesn't feel like a nicely wrapped package, but rather someone you want to have as a friend. So, read my thoughts with that in mind.įrankly, I love the character of Valentine. Because of this, I probably didn't experience this book as I should. Not knowing that it was the third book in the trilogy, I read The Supreme Macaroni Company first, which means that I went into both Very Valentine and Brava, Valentine knowing how everything ends up. As I said in my review of the first novel in this trilogy, Very Valentine, that I messed up a bit.

The four seasons book stephen king5/13/2023 Despite this, the collection has produced some of his best-loved adaptations such as The Shawshank Redemption and Stand By Me, as well as the underrated Apt Pupil. Related: Stranger Things Season 4 Mixes Nightmare On Elm Street & The Shiningĭifferent Seasons is notable for being one of King’s least horror-focused collections, with three out of its four stories featuring no fantasy, horror, or sci-fi elements. Despite being an anomaly in King’s canon, the collection received stellar reviews and was the inspiration for some of King’s most well-loved adaptations. Where collections like Night Shift, Skeleton Crew, and Nightmares and Dreamscapes saw King focus on horror, fantasy and sci-fi, Different Seasons was (mostly) a more grounded set of novellas from the writer. Comprised of four novellas, Different Seasons marked a departure from genre writing for King. Alastair, Jeff, Jasper, and I gathered before him, listening to the odd recitation, the cries of gulls overhead and the nearby surf nearly drowning him out. It was too wonderful, unlikely, and satisfying: a blind old poet beside a putting green. A hilarious dinner party, where, under the influence of Reid’s dope-infused brownies, blind Borges takes off at speed across a beachside golf course, using crashing waves and the noise of screeching gulls as a guide, with the intent of chanting out The Seafarer on the edge of the North Sea. Borges visits Reid and, of course, Jay is introduced. Reid, as many will know, is a poet of some note and also a translator of Borges’ poems. Breaking Dawn by Stephenie Meyer5/13/2023 when i got to the part from Jacobs pov it made the whole book more alive seeing outside of Bellas fairy tale lifted the book allot and although there was a character introduced that i immediately thought would kill the book (possible reaction because i read negative spoilers from the american amazon site which looked at the book with more reality than fantasy) but i pushed the negative thoughts aside and read with open mind and i must say S.M strange imagination made the whole story tie up nicely.-and i don't even like happy ever afters- i was disappointing that i was deprived of action i hoped would happen but it wasn't a huge disappointment B.D started off icky with the offset of character but it picked up at the next chapter, and gradually picked up as it went along. BREAKING DAWN has been a fair read however not as good as new moon or eclipse which had you hooked from start to finish.
